Instructions

  1. Brew the coffee in the moka pot and take it off the heat when it starts to sputter.
  2. In a small saucepan, warm the milk with the maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin purée if you use it. Whisk until steamy but not boiling.
  3. Froth the milk with a whisk or handheld frother for about 20 seconds.
  4. Pour the coffee into a mug, add the spiced milk and spoon the foam on top. Dust with a little pumpkin pie spice.

Tip: start with less spice and add more after tasting. Pumpkin pie spice is a blend, usually cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves, so a little goes a long way.

No frother? Our guide to making a latte without an espresso machine shows a few ways to froth milk with what you have. You can also use a homemade syrup instead of maple.
